The future is looking bright in Texas! RenewableWorks is now accepting applications for an exciting new solar project coming up in the El Paso area. Whether you're a seasoned solar professional or aspiring first-timer, we'd love for you to join our crew!

As a member of our team, you'll be instrumental in the operations of sustainable energy units on commercial solar farm sites. You'll take charge in operating machinery on uneven outdoor remote solar construction sites to move materials, trench, excavate, dig and bury wire, roll, grade and scrape.

Heads up: This is a physically demanding role that will require you to work in all kinds of weather. A strong work ethic will serve you well, along with prior solar or construction experience (this is a plus, not a must!).

Job Responsibilities

  • Operating/maneuvering heavy dirt, rough terrain equipment on construction solar sites in a safe and effective manner 
  • Conducting daily checks on equipment to ensure they function properly and safely 
  • Completing shallow and deep trenching excavation activities 
  • Digging, burying, rolling, scraping, moving, transferring safely
  • Working in close proximity to ground to workers on foot 
  • Cleaning, maintaining and conducting basic equipment repairs 
  • Recognizing hazards and danger zones 
  • Exercising knowledge of Basic Equipment Operating Hand Signals and coordinating with crew members in response to hand and/or audio signals 
  • Ensuring equipment is safely and securely store when not in use
  • Troubleshooting
  • Ensuring safety comes first - always!

Job Requirements 

  • OSHA 10 Certification
  • Class 7 Certification from reputable 3rd Party vendor
  • Ability to lift up to 50-75+ pounds and remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Any and all Heavy Equipment Operator Certification cards. Expired certifications may potentially be validated through a verifiable reference  
  • Ability to meet additional screening requirements 
  • Solar and/or construction site experience a plus 
  • Verifiable references of professional skills and work history / resume 
  • While tools will be provided onsite, please come ready with steel or composite-toed boots and hot/cold weather gear - this is your requirement
  • Attention to performance details
  • This work is not for the faint of heart - Strong work ethic and positive attitude will serve you well
  • Hard working and dependable

The hourly rate for this position is anticipated to range between $35.00 - $35.00 per hour. This range is a good-faith estimate, based on the qualifications necessary for the position, including but not limited to experience, training, and other considerations permitted by law. Factors that may be used when making an offer may include a candidate's skills and experience, the expected quality and quantity of work, and internal pay alignment, as needed. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the pay range. The upper end of the range will generally be reserved for candidates with extensive skills and experience. An employee's pay history will not be a contributing factor where prohibited by local law.
