The future is looking bright in Texas! RenewableWorks is now accepting applications for our exciting new solar project near the Nixon area. Whether you've a been working on solar sites for years or an aspiring first-timer, we'd love for you to join our crew!

As a member of our team, you'll be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all civil construction activities for our solar project site. Working closely with management teams - you'll be instrumental in the day to day operations of sustainable energy units on commercial solar farm sites.

Heads up: This is a physically demanding role that will require you to work in all kinds of weather. A strong work ethic will serve you well, along with prior solar or construction experience (this is a plus, not a must!).

Pay: $55.00 - $68.00 / hr

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage on-site civil construction activities, including grading, trenching, foundation work, road construction, and drainage installations
  • Develop daily, weekly, and monthly work plans in collaboration with the project manager to meet project schedules and milestones
  • Ensure efficient use of manpower, equipment, and materials, coordinating with procurement and logistics teams as needed
  • Review and understand civil design drawings and specifications, ensuring that construction activities adhere to the plans
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and address any issues or delays
  • Provide guidance and direction to subcontractors, ensuring work quality and safety
  • Enforce strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards on-site
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and permitting requirements
  • Ensure that all civil construction work is performed to the highest quality standards, as per design specifications and engineering requirements
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to verify work quality and resolve any non-conformance issues
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, inspections, and material testing results
  • Serve at the primary point of contact for civil construction activities, facilitating communication between on-site teams, engineers, and project management
  • Attend and contribute to project meetings, providing updates on progress, challenges, and solutions
  • Collaborate with electrical and mechanical superintendents to ensure smooth integration of civil works with other construction activities
  • Track material usage and waste, optimizing resources to minimize costs
  • Troubleshooting

Job Requirements

  • Tasks will involve excessive and repetitive walking, bending, kneeling, twisting, reaching, standing, lifting throughout entire shift
  • 3-5 years experience, preferably on a solar construction site
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, standards, and regulations related to civil works
  • Ability to lift up to 50-75+ pounds and remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Knowledge of basic equipment hand signals
  • Verifiable references of professional skills and work history/resume
  • While tools will be provided onsite, please come ready with steel or composite-toed boots and hot/cold weather gear
  • Attention to performance details

The hourly rate for this position is anticipated to range between $55.00 - $68.00 per hour. This range is a good-faith estimate, based on the qualifications necessary for the position, including but not limited to experience, training, and other considerations permitted by law. Factors that may be used when making an offer may include a candidate's skills and experience, the expected quality and quantity of work, and internal pay alignment, as needed. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the pay range. The upper end of the range will generally be reserved for candidates with extensive skills and experience. An employee's pay history will not be a contributing factor where prohibited by local law.
